Distributed data acquisition and control system is widely used in all industrial fields. It is used for implement complex and costly applications. In a single control system, it involves many sub-systems, communication devices, data acquisition modules, and other I/O devices. They usually communicate over different protocols. Gateway or protocol converter would be the key “translate” element between two protocols. GW-7472 is an Ethernet/IP to Modbus RTU/TCP gateway. It can scan or map the register data from Ethernet/IP device and exchange with Modbus register. One of the most common applications is the communication between Ethernet/IP PLC and Modbus data acquisition modules.
