Spot Club members can now earn the ability to unlock even more savings, receive priority customer support, redeem points for travel perks such as car washes and transfer points for airline miles.

The Spot Club, which crossed the million-member mark in 2016, allows loyal guests of The Parking Spot to earn points toward free parking. The enhanced loyalty program now introduces three premium tiers: Silver, Gold and Platinum, enabling The Parking Spot to offer more benefits to its most loyal members.

All members of the Spot Club will continue to be able to redeem their Spot Club points for free parking. Silver, Gold and Platinum level members will now be awarded a free day of parking each year as of their Spot Club anniversary date and will receive additional discounts on car care that increase with each higher program tier. Gold level members will receive priority online support and will be able to redeem points for car care services. Platinum level members will receive Gold level benefits plus premium online support and the ability to transfer Spot Club points for miles with several major airline partners.

Now, 40 years later Tracy has no complications, healthy kids, and just rode her bicycle across the United States. She left the Golden Gate Bridge June 13th on her epic 3,527-mile bicycle trek and completed her ride at the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City on September 13th.

The bicycle ride across America started off as a way to “celebrate” living 40 years with Type 1 diabetes but quickly evolved to encourage and inspire others with diabetes that they can also live a long healthy life. Now her focus is on continuing to provide hope for children, along with providing life-saving technology that so many children desperately need and aren’t able to receive. Juntos Podemos and Mi Familia Vota Unveil Step-by-Step Online App for DACA Renewal Applications

Juntos Podemos (Together We Can), organized in 2014 to promote the well-being of Hispanics in the U.S., and Mi Familia Vota (MFV) have joined forces to offer Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applicants free access to online software to renew their permits between now and October 5.

With only two weeks remaining before the renewal application deadline for those whose DACA permits expire before March 5, 2018, Juntos Podemos and Mi Familia Vota urge DACA program participants to use the online program to meet the deadline. Earlier this month, President Trump announced the gradual phase out of the DACA program, but those whose current permits expire between now and March 5 can apply for two-year renewals by Oct. 5.

“Time is running out for DACA recipients to file their renewal applications and we want to provide as much help as possible,” said Emmanuel Loo, of Juntos Podemos. “This free, easy-to-use online platform makes the application process safe, simple and affordable. By using the promo code ‘JUNTOSPODEMOSDACA,’ applicants will not be charged for services, which include legal review by an immigration attorney.” Applicants are responsible for payment of the renewal fees charged by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Ben Monterroso, executive director of Mi Familia Vota, emphasized the urgency for DACA participants to file by Oct. 5 to renew their two-year permits.

“Juntos Podemos, like many of our allies, is working hard to make sure that DACA recipients file in time to extend their permits for another two years. In addition to the DACA workshops MFV and others are conducting, this unique program lets applicants file from their home computer or cell phone,” Monterroso said. “This is especially helpful for people who cannot attend workshops because of work or family care commitments, or are recovering from the devastating hurricanes in Texas and Florida.”

The Juntos Podemos step-by-step software simplifies the renewal process and informs the applicant of each step being taken. The immigration software allows supporting documents to be uploaded and secures them for future applications and checks each application for accuracy and for mistakes that can cause unnecessary delays or rejection of applications. Once completed, the application can be printed, signed and mailed.

“It is unfortunate that the administration has imposed this burden on DACA recipients, but we are working hard to remove unnecessary burdens, so that as many people as possible can maintain their protections from deportation,” Loo said.

Production Wraps on 'Tales of Frankenstein' Starring Bruce Lee's 'Game of Death' Star Mel Novak and 'Wolverine' Creator Len Wein

​​Production has just wrapped in Los Angeles on the horror film “Tales of Frankenstein,” starring Bruce Lee’s “Game of Death’s” Mel Novak and “Wolverine,” creator Len Wein in his final film.

2018 marks the 200th Anniversary of Mary Shelley’s classic novel “Frankenstein,” so the goal of the film is to be released at that time to coincide with this momentous anniversary. This much-anticipated project is based upon four of writer-director Donald F. Glut’s (#1 Best Selling Star Wars novel “The Empire Strikes Back”) short stories published in his book Tales of Frankenstein: “My Creation, My Beloved,” (a deformed descendant of Victor Frankenstein creates the perfect man and woman), “Crawler from the Grave,” (another Frankenstein descendant’s disembodied, plague-infected arm returns from the grave for revenge), “Madhouse of Death” (a private detective winds up in an old dark house filled with loonies…and a gorilla) and “Dr. Karnstein’s Creation,” (a mad doctor creates a monster in vampire-haunted Transylvania – with gruesomely unexpected results). 

The film also stars Jerry Lacy (TV’s “Dark Shadows”), Ann Robinson (“War of the Worlds”), Beverly Washburn (”Old Yeller”), John Blyth Barrymore (“Fake News”), Jim Tavare (“Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban), Douglas Tait ( “monster performer” in “Star Trek”), Robert Axelrod (“Power Rangers”), T.J. 8 VPN Myths: True or False?

VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) are going mainstream. For example, NordVPN has seen a 300% user increase this year, mostly due to new Internet regulations and restrictions in various countries around the world. New regulations include current government surveillance techniques or additional geo-restricted content. In addition, due to an increase in hacking incidents, VPNs are becoming very popular tools to protect Internet users’ security.

By using a VPN, one’s Internet traffic gets encrypted into a secure tunnel between two points: the computer and a VPN server. Therefore, no one can access the data that passes through the tunnel – it becomes invisible to ISPs, government snoopers, identity thieves and hackers.

However, there are still many myths surrounding VPNs and how they can be useful to an average Internet user.

NordVPN lists some of the major misconceptions and clarifies a few major issues that users have with VPNs.

1. No matter what they claim, all VPNs log user traffic. Some VPN providers actually don’t have a choice – they must log their users’ Internet activity as required by law, depending on the country where they operate. VPN service providers based in one of 14 Eyes or 5 Eyes countries usually must log user traffic. When user information is logged, it could be easily shared with the government or any third parties. However, if a VPN operates from a country where traffic logs are not required by the government, it will delete user activity after each session – and then there are no obstacles preventing the organization from running a log-less service.

2. Free VPNs offer the same level of protection. A VPN provider which offers a free service must earn money somehow. Server maintenance is expensive, not to mention the salaries for the staff and other expenses. Usually, a VPN provider that is offering a free service will be using other ways to earn money – and it’s usually through selling user data. A safe VPN will have a price. Paid VPNs will also usually offer faster speeds and other advantages.

3. VPNs slow down Internet traffic. Since VPN works as an encryption tunnel, it can sometimes slow down the Internet. However, the slowdown shouldn’t be significant in most cases. If it is, that means the VPN might be having some temporary technical problems, or it’s time to switch to another provider. If a VPN provider is a paid service, they will usually offer a larger selection of servers to connect to – so when one is heavily loaded and slow, it’s easy to connect to another one.  Connecting to a server that’s closer geographically might solve the slowdown issue.

4. VPN is a tool that works equally for anyone. In fact, VPN connection quality depends on a great variety of factors. Different network environments, ISPs and the way they handle traffic, VPN server load and distance between the user and a datacenter, device, plays important role in service’s behavior. Not to mention additional software installed, the configuration method and so on.

5. All VPNs offer the same level of encryption. In truth, VPN encryption protocols can differ, some of these protocols being more secure than others. Users should avoid the PPTP protocol, which was one of the first security protocols introduced – however, it is now considered to be weak and insecure. The safest VPN protocols are OpenVPN and also IKEv2/IPsec, which employs very strong cryptographic algorithms and keys.

6. Proxy is the same as VPN. Some users make the mistake of confusing proxies with VPNs – at the expense of their online security. Proxies do not protect from government surveillance, data tracking or hackers. Those who are not concerned about keeping their Internet traffic safe, and only want to stream a movie, can use proxies. Otherwise, in order to protect security and privacy, a VPN is recommended over a proxy.

7. It will work on all platforms. Not all VPNs work on every platform – some might operate only on Apple devices, for example. A well-established VPN functions across different platforms, including iOS, macOS, Android and Windows.

8. VPN is only for technically savvy people. There are still some VPNs with clumsy websites and hard-to-find buttons. That’s because when VPNs entered the market, they were initially used mostly by technology geeks. Currently, many VPNs have updated their user interfaces and are easy to use by anyone who goes online. For example, NordVPN only requires turning the ON button. HOTEL MANAGEMENT Magazine Reveals "Thirty Under 30" – 30 Influential Rising Stars in Hospitality, All Under 30 Years of Age

HOTEL MANAGEMENT releases its annual “Thirty Under 30” list, showcasing the hospitality industry’s rising talent. 

Each year, HOTEL MANAGEMENT opens up its call for nominations to the greater industry in order to capture true rising talent that deserves widespread recognition for their dedication to the field. Nominees must be 30 years old or younger as of Dec. 31, 2017, currently work at any level in a hotel field (operations, management, ownership, technology, asset management, consulting, training, sales & marketing), have completed a significant project for his or her hotel or organization and be recognized by leaders of his or her own hotel or organization as an emerging leader.

This year, more than 60 nominations were received and the below 30 professionals were chosen by HOTEL MANAGEMENT’s senior editorial staff for their outstanding achievements:
